Better known as G-Land, Plengkung Beach is an internationally recognised surfing spot with an enchanting curved coastline and offers some of the most outstanding waves that reach up to 6 metres in height, aptly being dubbed The Seven Giant Waves Wonder by avid surfers.

It is good to note that the challenging waves at G-Land should only be ventured by professionals. Those not keen on surfing may simply enjoy smelling the sea breeze, listening to the ferocious waves and admiring the striking views.

Sukamade Beach is another favourite at Banyuwangi, famous for its turtle sightings. At night time, the female turtles work their way up to the shore to lay their eggs and since breeding season is between October and March, it is best to plan your visit to this remote beach accordingly.

Alternatively, hit up Red Beach to check out its scarlet-hued soil and stunning sunsets, Wedi Ireng which is a hidden paradise with volcanic black sand, or the undisturbed Teluk Hijau Beach that is coincidentally positioned next to a small waterfall and fresh water stream as an added bonus.
